Description

Probiotics are ‘good’ bacteria, living organisms, that scientific trials indicate confer a health benefit on the body by improving intestinal microbial balance and so inhibiting pathogens or toxin producing bacteria. Probiotics are found in some foods like yoghurt or fermented milk, and in dietary supplements generally as tablets, powders or capsules. There many different species and strains of probiotic bacteria and it can be confusing. It is better to choose an identified strain of probiotic organism as these strains have been developed and scientifically tested for effectiveness.
